Home visit

Why should I prefer to visit the clinic vs. why should I request a home visit?
The physiotherapists at South Physio Clinic encourage patients regardless of their mobility level to receive their treatment at the clinic. Our space can support patients of all mobility levels, in particular a patient with mobility problems can come with their wheelchair and move safely and without restrictions in the clinic areas (treatment areas, gym, toilet and kitchen).

Contact with the clinic, static treatment equipment and contact with the staff encourages patients and lifts their spirits. Nevertheless, we understand that there are immunocompromised patients, patients who are bedridden and cannot be transported, or who for psychological or mental reasons cannot leave their home. For these vulnerable patients, we offer home visits as long as the patients' homes are within twenty minutes of the clinic site (Ethnarchou Makariou 51 & Tripoleos).

What should I expect in home physical therapy?
In home visits we maintain the highest level of treatment and the patient does not "lose" the quality of treatment he would have received in the clinic. At the first appointment, a detailed assessment and goal setting is carried out, and then depending on the needs of each patient, treatment is carried out by one or two physical therapists. Equipment necessary for the treatment is provided by South Physio Clinic. It is important to note that at the same time as the initial assessment of the patient's physical condition, an assessment of the living space is also carried out, and where this is deemed correct, necessary equipment is recommended to maintain a good quality of life and avoid falls, such as e.g. transfer board, evaluation for wheelchair use, ramp use in or around the house. Our long-term work in England allows us to have a thorough knowledge of the discharge planning of patients at home, as we have postgraduate knowledge and practical training on the complete set of equipment.

Which patients do you see at home?
Some of the patients we often see at home for physical therapy are:

  • Patients with cardiorespiratory problems, especially patients who need sunctioning
  • Patients with advanced neurological diseases
  • Patients with advanced dementia
  • Elderly patients
  • Oncology patients
  • Immunosuppressed patients
  • Patients who, due to psychological or psychiatric illnesses, do not feel comfortable leaving their residence
  • Patients who prefer home treatments for personal reasons
